Structured Growth

Skill Development By Level

A clear progression path from total beginner to competitive athlete. We ensure fundamentals are mastered before moving to advanced techniques.

The Aqua Haven Progression

Our curriculum is carefully designed to build upon previous skills. By testing out of lower levels before advancing, students develop unshakable confidence and impeccable technique without developing bad habits.

L1

Level 1: Water Acclimation & Safety

Primary Focus: Comfort, submersion, and basic buoyancy.

  • Assisted front and back floating
  • Comfortably submerging mouth, nose, and eyes
  • Independent exit from the water
  • Basic underwater breath control (blowing bubbles)
To Advance: Must demonstrate a 10-second unassisted float on both front and back, and completely submerge voluntarily.
L2

Level 2: Fundamental Aquatics

Primary Focus: Forward movement and basic locomotion.

  • Gliding off the wall (front and back)
  • Introduction to freestyle flutter kicks
  • Beginning basic arm strokes ("paddling")
  • Treading water basics (15 seconds)
To Advance: Must swim unassisted for 10 meters using rudimentary strokes and tread water for 15 seconds.
L3

Level 3: Stroke Development

Primary Focus: Technique and side-breathing coordination.

  • Rhythmic (side) breathing during freestyle
  • Introduction to backstroke arm pull
  • Elementary backstroke kick (whip kick)
  • Survival floats and deeper water confidence
To Advance: Must swim 25 meters continuous freestyle with proper rhythmic breathing, and 15 meters backstroke.
L4

Level 4: Stroke Refinement

Primary Focus: Enhancing stamina and introducing complex strokes.

  • Refining bilateral breathing in freestyle
  • Introduction to breaststroke timing (pull, breathe, kick, glide)
  • Introduction to butterfly (dolphin kick)
  • Basic open turns at the wall
To Advance: Must swim 50 meters continuous freestyle, 25 meters continuous breaststroke, and execute an open turn.
L5

Level 5: Pre-Competitive / Swim Team Prep

Primary Focus: All four competitive strokes, speed, and racing fundamentals.

  • Mastery of butterfly pull and timing
  • Introduction to flip turns (freestyle & backstroke)
  • Racing starts (diving off the block/side)
  • Interval training and reading pace clocks
To Advance: To join the competitive swim team, swimmers must legally complete a 100-meter Individual Medley (IM).
